Getting to Waiheke

Passenger ferries leave from downtown Auckland, with around 20 sailings daily for a 35 minute journey with panoramic views of the city, Rangitoto and other islands.

Most sailing's are met at Matiatia Bay by buses, shuttles and taxi's. The bus service has two main routes covering the most populated areas of the island.

A vehicle ferry, which also takes foot passengers, makes 12 sailings daily from Half Moon Bay, Pakuranga. A passenger ferry between Auckland and Coromandel also makes regular stops at Waiheke.

Local air services provide scheduled and charter flights to Auckland and other Gulf islands.
